Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that change how associates work and customers interact with Capital One.
  • •Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components across foundation model training, LLM inference, agents/multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
  • •Use open-source and SaaS AI technologies (e.g., AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch) and create foundation model optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput.
  • •Implement and optimize multi-model orchestration pipelines integrating LLMs, vector search, and domain-specific models into unified systems.
  • •Lead technical governance and review processes (cost-performance governance, design councils/review boards) and mentor senior AI engineers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 250,800 - 286,200 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/AI/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering (or related) plus 6+ years developing AI/ML algorithms, or a Master’s plus 4+ years developing AI/ML algorithms.
  • •At least 6 years of programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
  • •Experience leading development of AI systems with tradeoffs across cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy.
  • •7+ years deploying scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • •Experience designing, developing, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems (e.g., LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, agents/workflows).
