Job Summary

Own the integration surface for an AI observability platform by designing and building OpenTelemetry-native SDKs, instrumentation libraries, and connectors that ingest trace, metric, and model data. Lead OpenTelemetry/OTLP strategy, define agentic semantic conventions, and architect distributed ingestion and processing systems at enterprise scale. Drive developer experience for SDKs, partner on new evaluation and metrics, raise operational maturity for ingestion, and help grow the engineering team and culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build SDKs, instrumentation libraries, and connectors to bring customer telemetry and model data into the AI observability platform.
•Own Fiddler’s OpenTelemetry and OTLP strategy across instrumentation, collectors, exporters, sampling, and end-to-end tracing.
•Define agentic semantic conventions and mapping to translate heterogeneous agent frameworks onto a unified span/metric model.
•Architect distributed ingestion and processing services to receive, normalize, persist, and expose ML and agentic observability signals at enterprise scale.
•Raise operational maturity for the ingestion path (reliability, latency, SLOs) and help grow the engineering team through mentoring and reviews.

Key Requirements

•Master’s or Bachelor’s in Computer Science (or related) and 10+ years of industry experience with a strong software development foundation.
•Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry/OTLP including instrumentation, collectors, semantic conventions, sampling, and the broader tracing ecosystem.
•Deep proficiency with Python and high-throughput ingestion technologies such as Kafka, Postgres, and Redis, including building large-scale streaming/storage systems.
•Proven experience building developer-facing SDKs/client libraries/connectors and designing APIs/contracts across systems you don’t fully control.
•Strong grasp of distributed systems and troubleshooting production issues; nice to have AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and ClickHouse/Druid.
