Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform structural analysis across preliminary design, detailed design, development testing and validation, certification, delivery support, and post engine production/service support.
  • •Evaluate MSEN component health during engine validation testing (engine and rig), including test data reduction and analysis to confirm test objectives.
  • •Support field investigations and use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
  • •Serve as the Structures representative on multidisciplinary teams, balancing durability, performance, cost, and weight in design solutions.
  • •Document and present analysis results to Pratt & Whitney management and external customers, including as-needed on-site or remote engine test coverage.

Key Requirements

  • •Earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of relevant structural analysis experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • •Relevant experience performing structural analysis.
  • •Experience with aerospace propulsion or turbofan engines.
  • •Proficiency using ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS Classic, and finite element methods.
  • •Perform hand calculations to validate FEA.
