Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead breaking and developing news coverage editorially and logistically for newsroom and field crews.
  • •Research, coordinate, pitch, and implement coverage of breaking news, continuing coverage, and community stories.
  • •Assess quickly what is needed for breaking stories and establish coverage priorities.
  • •Collaborate with website, social media, and streaming teams and initiate/maintain communication with affiliates and news channel counterparts.
  • •Monitor and break news through social media platforms and tools; maintain story and contact files.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 4 years’ experience in a broadcast news environment, coordinating assignments and generating story ideas.
  • •Two years’ experience as an Assignment Editor.
  • •Ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift, including weekends, holidays, and overnights.
  • •Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States and be willing to work in Philadelphia, PA.
  • •Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
