Key Responsibilities

•Act as a senior legal advisor to the Hong Kong Trustee and Funds business teams within HSBC’s Securities Services (SSV) in Asia Pacific, leading complex legal advice on trustee and fiduciary matters for HK SFC authorised funds (RA13). Knowledge of Cayman and other regulated fund structures is highly desirable.
•Negotiate complex client transactions and provide timely advice in accordance with HSBC templates and risk parameters across fund administration, new and existing funds (Hong Kong SFC authorised funds, Cayman Funds) and all ancillary products.
•Support the Head of Securities Services Legal and relevant business leads with new product and template development.
•Provide advice and support with respect to regulatory projects and ensure regulatory risks are addressed and mitigated.
•Work closely with a regional and global team of lawyers supporting the Securities Services and Markets business of HSBC.

Key Requirements

•Qualified lawyer with experience advising on trustee and fiduciary matters for HK SFC-authorised funds; knowledge of Cayman funds structures is highly desirable.
•Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex client transactions and provide timely legal advice within HSBC templates and risk parameters across fund administration, Hong Kong SFC authorised funds, Cayman Funds.
•Ability to manage a significant number of bespoke or complex requests across various transactions and fund types; strong project and workload management.
•Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across geographies and with offshore teams (e.g., Bangalore) and global teams.
•Ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate regulatory risks in line with HSBC risk appetite, policies and procedures.
