Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and lead the API & Cloud engineering community across platform teams and grow technical capability.
  • •Define and govern adoption of the HSBC engineering way for API and Cloud, contributing to end-to-end architecture discussions.
  • •Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD tools and build pipelines to enable delivery.
  • •Collaborate with technical leaders, product owners, and stakeholders on strategy, code standards, roadmaps, and requirements.
  • •Advocate for quality and testable code, track productivity improvements, and promote a strong definition of done.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • •Core experience with Java, microservices, and cloud working.
  • •Passion for open-source ways of working and experience fostering engineering culture in an Agile and DevOps environment.
  • •Track record improving engineer productivity and quality, advocating testable code and acting as a gatekeeper for the definition of done.
  • •Experience collaborating across engineering centres/territories, including technical presentations and documenting solutions.
