Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide Gray Eagle MQ-1C UAS instruction on takeoff, landing, and tactical employment procedures.
  • •Teach Air Crew Coordination and Gray Eagle system fundamentals, including capabilities, emergency procedures, limitations, and payload system logic.
  • •Instruct on mission planning and approval using METTTC, risk assessment, and performance planning.
  • •Train on Army reporting formats (SALUTE, SALTW, BDA) and concepts related to restricted areas, Class D airspace, and ATC phraseology.
  • •Support UAS flight operations by covering tactical mission fundamentals, including reconnaissance, aerial surveillance, security operations, attack mission employment, and relevant flight rule topics.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualification in Gray Eagle MQ-1C UAS.
  • •At least four years of operational flying (post initial qualification) experience within the last five years.
  • •200 hours on the Gray Eagle.
  • •20 hours as an aircraft Commander (AC) (or 20 hours of IO with AC designation in records).
  • •Obtain and maintain a flight physical per AR 95-20 and complete evaluations per AR 95-20 (including TRADOC instructor, oral academic, no-notice, DES, PFEs, and SFEs).
