Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the shipping department by establishing procedures, adjusting to meet shipping schedules, improving efficiencies, and meeting/exceeding budget objectives.
  • •Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure safe and efficient transportation, storage, and loading/unloading while reducing contamination and damage risk.
  • •Identify and communicate opportunities for process optimization and reduce or eliminate repeat deficiencies such as hold product, accidents, or downtime.
  • •Mentor, coach, and train/cross-train employees; provide consistent feedback and administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
  • •Follow and promote safety initiatives (including PPE requirements), maintain organized docks/storage facilities, and coordinate with other departments/shifts to meet goals.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum four (4) years relevant experience in a supply chain or shipping environment, with perishable foods experience preferred.
  • •Proven leadership experience, including timekeeping knowledge, policy adherence, conflict resolution, and prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • •Strong customer focus and exceptional verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate across the chain of command and with external customers.
  • •Proficient computer and math skills, plus strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
  • •High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree with relevant coursework from an accredited institution preferred.
