Key Responsibilities

  • •Design factory and production processes for high-quality Starship/Super Heavy flow control devices (valves, regulators) and mechanisms (flap/fin/gimbal motor actuators).
  • •Question and refine assembly/test requirements and manufacturing processes to simplify production flow, accelerate output, and introduce targeted automation.
  • •Work with development/design engineers, internal machine shops, and external vendors to produce parts designed for manufacturability.
  • •Maintain lightweight, scalable work instructions and tracking for defects/part movement; implement flight-like acceptance testing.
  • •Support component testing (proof/leak, fluid flow, cryogenic and functional checkouts) and investigate production yield and workmanship defect issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in physics or an engineering discipline.
  • •1+ years of mechanical design and hands-on manufacturing experience (internships and project teams qualify).
  • •Leadership or mentorship experience and the ability to communicate effectively across technician, engineering, and executive levels.
  • •Experience in build/test development and on-time delivery of new components.
  • •Experience working with fluid and electromechanical components such as valves, actuators, regulators, motors, gear trains, and sensors.
