Key Responsibilities

  • •Quality Oversight & Reporting: Report all coating-related quality issues, risks, and non-conformances to PMT and the Yard Quality Manager across all active projects; ensure the implementation and continual improvement of coating-related elements within Project Quality Plans and yard quality procedures; prepare and review Coating Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Work Instructions applicable to coating works.
  • •Leadership & Team Management: Lead and supervise Coating QC Inspectors across the yard, ensuring daily coordination, workload allocation, and consistent inspection practice; ensure all inspectors and production personnel understand coating specifications, acceptance criteria, and project requirements.
  • •Technical Expertise & Code Interpretation: Provide authoritative interpretation of coating standards, project specifications, manufacturer data sheets (MDS), and client requirements; manage technical queries, deviations, clarifications, and waivers through the Site Query System with proper documentation and communication.
  • •Coordination & Interface: Coordinate with Operations, Production, Engineering, Certifying Authorities, Clients, and subcontractors to ensure coating activities comply with specifications; facilitate resolution of coating quality issues through proactive engagement with production and management teams.
  • •Safety, Quality & Compliance: Promote high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and Code of Business Conduct compliance within all coating operations; ensure all coating processes (surface preparation, environmental condition control, coating application, curing, DFT measurement, etc.) comply with applicable standards.
  • •Continuous Improvement & Planning: Initiate proactive coating quality planning, including readiness checks, mock-ups, qualification tests, and preventive measures to ensure first-time-right execution; support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for coating-related NCRs.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials, Corrosion, or related discipline.
  • •15 years of coating/painting quality experience in fabrication, construction, offshore, or related industries.
  • •Expert knowledge of ISO 12944, SSPC/NACE/AMPP standards, ASTM, ISO 8501‑8503; project specifications.
  • •NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent FROSIO Level 3) preferred.
  • •Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
