Key Responsibilities

  • •Implements, tests, and maintains manufacturing equipment controls, including troubleshooting, repairs, and ongoing maintenance of electrical control problems.
  • •Test new controls established by the First Solar Controls department and download software changes/upgrades; maintain current software databases for the base plant.
  • •Assist IT with setup, installation, and testing of communication devices for PLCs.
  • •Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on production equipment; develop and implement electrical preventative maintenance tasks, procedures, and schedules.
  • •Document and follow up on controls-related problems; interface with company and supplier representatives and other departments while ensuring safety and good housekeeping standards.

Key Requirements

  • •3-7 years of electrical/electronic/controls experience.
  • •Associate Degree in Electrical, Robotics, or Electronic Engineering (preferred).
  • •If no degree, 5+ years of verifiable related experience (e.g., semiconductors, automotive).
  • •Journeyman’s Card from an accredited apprenticeship program (preferred).
  • •Proficiency in troubleshooting/problem-solving on the manufacturing line, reading prints, and working independently while managing multiple priorities.
