Job Summary

Lead and coach a Compliance Operations team responsible for decisions on higher-risk customers across selected APAC entities. Own the control environment by overseeing high-risk customer portfolios, enhancing decision and quality frameworks for customer due diligence, and ensuring operational KPIs and escalation handling. Drive process improvements and automation, collaborate with central and operational teams, and support training, regulatory obligations, audits, and 2LoD advisory for complex KYC/CDD cases.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead by example and drive a customer-focused mindset across the team and wider organization, promoting ownership and accountability.
•Manage people: coach and develop Compliance Operations, design development plans, and make recommendations on promotions and salary changes.
•Drive operational improvements by identifying process improvement opportunities, monitoring resource allocation, and refining SOPs to increase efficiency.
•Manage performance by measuring KPIs, ensuring quality and targets, running regular 1:1s, acting as escalation for unresolved issues, and generating performance reports with corrective actions.
•Share expertise as a subject matter expert on regulatory obligations and risk-based AML/CTF compliance, supporting audits/policy processes and advising 2LoD on KYC/CDD matters when needed.

Key Requirements

•At least 4 years of experience in FinCrime Operations or Compliance focused on customer due diligence and risk assessments.
•At least 2+ years leading medium to large teams (10–20), preferably in FinCrime operations or Compliance.
•Deep knowledge of AML/CTF regulations in APAC markets as they relate to customer due diligence (e.g., Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore).
•Experience in first line FinCrime operational functions for complex customer cases, ideally with second line compliance advisory exposure.
•Experience with regulatory inspections/audits and FIU reporting, including establishing policy requirements and oversight of policy adherence.
