Key Responsibilities

  • •Produce flood hydrological assessments supporting flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments, and Environment Agency flood maps.
  • •Apply FEH guidance to estimate flood flows across catchment types throughout England.
  • •Produce high-quality technical reports.
  • •Use GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro and QGIS) to support hydrological work and technical outputs.
  • •Technically review hydrological assessments produced within AECOM and calibrate/update hydrological analysis through collaboration with hydraulic modellers.

Key Requirements

  • •Evidence of experience estimating flood flows using FEH and REFH2.
  • •Deep understanding of statistical hydrological analysis.
  • •Experience working with hydraulic modellers to calibrate hydraulic models.
  • •Experience producing flood hydrological assessments and/or contributing to rating reviews.
  • •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or relevant discipline) and working towards Chartered membership of ICE or CIWEM.
