Job Summary

Lead structural engineering efforts for multi-site building and infrastructure projects in Honolulu, guiding design, analysis, and construction planning. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and planners to develop load-bearing structures, prepare construction plans, models, and reports, and ensure compliance with applicable codes. Mentor junior engineers, perform data analyses from site investigations, and contribute to risk mitigation and QA/QC across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Determine well-defined methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, subsurface utility information, maps, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
•Perform professional structural engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building and infrastructure to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
•Develop construction plans and specifications.
•Develop or incorporate advanced modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, and operating strategies to account for safety and functionality of end-users and transportation systems.
•Work with a cross-functional team to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, laying out installations, guiding construction, and ensuring compliance with permits and QA/QC.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
•7 to 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering with structural or civil design
•Engineer in Training Certification
•Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, design/build, and related regulations
•Experience with design and construction management including rehabilitation and new design projects
