Job Summary

Seeking a Safety Engineer to support Airbus Protect in Donauwörth with safety analyses of helicopter systems and functions. You will perform safety assessments (FHA, pSSA, SSA, fault trees), conduct zonal safety analyses, coordinate with design teams, manage safety-derived requirements, prepare certification data, and interface with software/hardware, maintenance, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist in the generation and review of safety assessments and analyses for aircraft systems using standardized methodologies (e.g., FHA, pSSA, SSA, Fault Trees)
•Independently perform Common Cause Analyses such as Zonal Safety Analysis or Particular Risk Analyses under senior guidance
•Interface with internal system development teams to verify and document compliance with safety objectives
•Contribute to derivation, capture, and tracking of safety-derived requirements throughout the development lifecycle
•Compile and prepare data and showings to support certification and continued airworthiness

Key Requirements

•Degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautics, or related field (up to 4 years) or a longer degree with extensive related qualifications
•Knowledge and/or experience in system development or reliability engineering, ideally in aviation
•Fundamental understanding of aircraft systems and architectures
•Initial exposure to aviation safety standards (ARP 4754A, ARP 4761) is an asset; on-the-job training provided
•Experience with analytical methods (e.g., Fault Tree Analysis / FTA) and strong analytical, structured, and collaborative working style
