Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide strategic and commercially pragmatic legal advice and support to Resolution Copper, including managing legal risks and reputational considerations.
  • •Draft, negotiate, and assess legal documents and determine the best approach to legal support based on risk/opportunity and resources.
  • •Provide direct legal support for operational and business matters including litigation, commercial matters, environmental compliance, permitting, communities, land use, and regulatory issues.
  • •Maintain awareness of material internal and external legal developments that may require legal advice.
  • •Give legal training to executives and relevant Rio Tinto and Resolution Copper employees and liaise with operations and business stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of experience post-qualification with a law firm or in-house, plus 2+ years’ in-house experience.
  • •Strong permitting experience for large, complex infrastructure or natural resource projects across multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks.
  • •Significant experience either in industrial operations/natural resources or in administrative/regulatory counseling and litigation for industrial clients.
  • •Ability to practice law in Arizona (or obtain an Arizona license within one year).
  • •Demonstrated leadership of legal or business teams (or potential to lead legal teams).
