Job Summary

Serve as a PCB Material Science subject matter expert, leading research and development for high-layer-count PCB technologies and high-volume manufacturing. Own PCB technology and material roadmaps, optimize stack-ups for reliability and cost, and support engineering partners across signal integrity, PCB design, PCB sourcing, and operations. Partner with PCB manufacturers and laminate suppliers to qualify capabilities and meet next-generation roadmap requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead research, development, and implementation of high-volume manufacturing for high layer count PCBs.
•Conduct R&D on new PCB technologies, interconnect structures, and materials for product performance improvements and cost reductions.
•Own PCB technology and material roadmaps aligned to engineering requirements and next-generation product needs.
•Provide PCB technology support to engineering teams including signal integrity, PCB design, PCB sourcing, and operations engineering.
•Develop relationships with PCB manufacturers and laminate material suppliers; engage the supply base to ensure capability, readiness, and supplier qualification for new technologies and materials.

Key Requirements

•BS or MS in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 10+ years in PCB design, fabrication, and materials.
•Extensive expertise across PCB technologies, including R&D of laminate materials, interconnect structures, chemistries, and fabrication processes.
•Deep understanding of the PCB supplier base and raw material sourcing ecosystem.
•Proven expertise in HDI and high-layer-count PCBs, materials, and signal-integrity challenges for high-speed (25 Gbps+) designs.
•Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with hardware and signal integrity engineering teams.
