Key Responsibilities

  • •Support NPI from development builds through ramp-up, mass production, and steady-state expansion with a focus on CMF surfaces and finishes.
  • •Partner with the CMF Design team to translate color/material/finish direction into manufacturable, scalable, and quality-controlled production processes.
  • •Own and maintain master color/material standards, golden samples, and build units with tracking and traceability across the lifecycle.
  • •Develop quality systems, control plans, and measurement methods (including colorimetry/spectrophotometry and gloss/sheen) for coatings and surface treatments.
  • •Lead build readiness reviews, identify CMF-specific process risks using data, and conduct supplier audits/continuous improvement to enhance CMF performance.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years in Supplier Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or CMF/Surface Finishing Engineering with exposure to coatings, platings, or surface treatments.
  • •Experience working with final assembly factories and mechanical enclosures and/or electronics suppliers.
  • •Supplier quality engineering in high-volume handheld/wearable and/or consumer products with high cosmetic standards.
  • •Experience qualifying and auditing surface finishing processes including PVD, anodization (Type II/Type III), electroplating, laser texturing/etching, soft-touch/soft-feel coatings, and painting.
  • •Strong knowledge of color science and measurement fundamentals (colorimetry, spectrophotometry, Delta-E, gloss/sheen) plus quality tools such as GRR, SPC, FA/CA, 8D, FMEA, and DOE; familiarity with finish-specific test methods (e.g., ASTM D3359).
