Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow safe operating practices and comply with company policies while working in a shop environment.
  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and trailers.
  • •Handle minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment and systems, including aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, and brake chambers.
  • •Determine parts required for each job and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department; communicate with the Shop Manager and service writer regarding estimates and repair order (RO) findings.
  • •Complete documentation and DOT forms accurately and timely, including uploading pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on repair orders using a company-issued device and/or Karmak application.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Able to complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • •Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card (with more than four months remaining) or complete a DOT physical if it has four months or less remaining.
  • •Safe drivers needed; hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
