Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor Capital One UK systems and applications, and design/enabled platforms and features supporting the UK Observability estate.
  • •Take end-to-end responsibility for technical design, implementation, and operational considerations of key deliverables.
  • •Design new technical solutions and advocate for architectural decisions across wider engineering teams.
  • •Drive engineering best practices focused on Operational Excellence, Security, and Quality; set standards across teams.
  • •Lead and mentor colleagues, including standing in for the Engineering Manager when needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of building secure, testable, scalable platforms.
  • •End-to-end ownership of technical design, implementation, and operational considerations for key deliverables.

  • •Experience with observability/telemetry and monitoring tools including OTel, Grafana, and Prometheus.
