Key Responsibilities

•Lead major groundwater and water resources projects, directing work on groundwater modelling, groundwater flooding, monitoring, water quality, hydrogeological conceptualisation and EIA to support decision making for nationally important projects.
•Shape the future of groundwater capability by guiding junior and mid-level hydrogeologists, developing structured training, and leading capability growth and succession planning.
•Influence the technical direction of the national Catchment Science team by collaborating with senior leaders across Sustainable Water Management and Ground and Water specialists.
•Prepare high-quality proposals, identify new opportunities, and support framework delivery to maintain and grow a strong project pipeline.
•Collaborate across disciplines and with international WSP colleagues to deliver integrated project outcomes for clients in the UK and overseas.

Key Requirements

•MSc Hydrogeology plus a BSc in a related discipline (e.g. geology, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, environmental science)
•Strong experience in groundwater and water environment assessment, including groundwater and water resources modelling, EIA, WFD, conceptualisation and site investigation
•Strong understanding of UK hydrogeology and the regulatory framework for water management
•Proven ability to lead and direct projects from inception to delivery, including financial and programme management
•Chartered status (or equivalent senior standing)
