Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate various size construction trucks (up to approximately 100 ton) in an off-road steel mill environment.
  • •Transport scrap and/or finished materials to and from marine docks, storage yards, receiving bins, and other required locations.
  • •Comply with policies, procedures, and guidelines for safe vehicle operation.
  • •Perform routine pre-operation vehicle inspections and note issues requiring maintenance.
  • •Perform startup, shut down, lockout, fueling/lubrication, loading/traveling/dumping procedures, and keep the vehicle clean and in working order at shift end.

Key Requirements

  • •High school graduation certificate or equivalent desired (not required).
  • •Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
  • •Maintain a valid driver’s license and demonstrate thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
  • •Operate and maintain equipment safely at all times.
  • •Be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and work sitting in the vehicle cab for extended periods.
