Key Responsibilities

  • ā€¢Serve as the primary legal expert on Online Safety Act, Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, and related global AI, platform, and online safety regulations.
  • ā€¢Lead the design and implementation of scalable compliance programs, governance frameworks, controls, and operating processes.
  • ā€¢Partner with Product, Engineering, Safety, Policy, Operations, and Security teams to translate regulatory obligations into practical product and operational requirements.
  • ā€¢Monitor emerging regulations and enforcement trends and anticipate their impact on compliance strategy.
  • ā€¢Develop repeatable playbooks, escalation paths, and decision frameworks to manage risk while enabling fast execution.
  • ā€¢Support engagement with regulators, external counsel, industry groups, and other stakeholders as needed.

Key Requirements

  • ā€¢10+ years of experience in a mix of in-house or technology-focused law firm roles.
  • ā€¢Deep expertise in the UK Online Safety Act, EU Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, and similar global regulatory frameworks.
  • ā€¢Experience building or leading scalable legal compliance programs in a fast-moving technology environment.
  • ā€¢Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical product, technical, and operational guidance.
  • ā€¢JD and a license or qualification to practice in California.
