Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement new analytics capabilities and enhancements in Elasticsearch’s aggregation framework and ES|QL query engine.
  • •Research and apply data structures and algorithms to improve functionality and performance.
  • •Build and fix data-intensive features and intriguing bugs while making the codebase easier to understand.
  • •Collaborate with UI teams and other teams building solutions on top of Elasticsearch APIs to ensure a strong user experience.
  • •Engage with community members on issues and pull requests, sometimes triaging and handing off, and sometimes handling directly.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong core Java skills, including the standard library’s data structures and concurrency constructs, plus familiarity with newer Java features like lambdas.

  • •Hands-on experience with data storage/search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra, and understanding how they work.
