Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the asphalt paver to spread and level asphalt on highway and related surfaces according to the plan.
  • •Guide and direct dump trucks while backing up to the machine hopper.
  • •Perform additional tasks of other positions as needed and instructed by the foreman.
  • •Perform routine equipment maintenance such as oiling, greasing, servicing, and making normal operating adjustments.
  • •Follow traffic control crew instructions and practice required safety standards; adhere to PPE policy.

Key Requirements

  • •Operate the paving machine to apply asphalt per plans and quality specifications as instructed by the crew foreman to meet schedules and estimates.

  • •Be physically able to operate the paving machine for extended shifts (8–12 hours) under temperature extremes.
  • •Lift up to 50 lbs for repetitive lifting and maintain PPE in functional condition as supplied by the company.
