Job Summary

Install, repair, and maintain copper and fiber networks; perform testing (OTDR, continuity) and service provisioning (POTS, DSL, FTTH). Work on aerial, buried, and underground plant, read blueprints, coordinate with customers, and identify upsell opportunities. On-site, in Maplewood/Shoreview, MN with a Monday–Friday schedule and possible weekend work; uphold safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Install, splice, and test fiber optic and copper cables for projects, maintenance, and emergency repairs
•Perform dark fiber, reel, continuity, and conformance testing using industry-standard equipment (e.g., OTDR, T-Berd)
•Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing fiber and copper networks, locating and resolving faults to ensure service continuity
•Install, configure, and enable residential and small business telecommunication services such as POTS, HSI, VDSL, FTTH, and networking
•Read and interpret service orders, repair tickets, technical drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and maps to execute work accurately

Key Requirements

•Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; may require a CDL and DOT drive qualification regulations
•May climb and work at elevations exceeding 18 feet and perform ladder/pole work; adhere to safety policies
•May work outdoors in varying weather and conditions; follow company safety policies
•May perform strenuous physical activities including lifting/moving objects over 75 pounds
•Read and interpret service orders, blueprints, diagrams, and maps; document outcomes and coordinate testing
