Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop mechanical auxiliary system equipment requirements and participate in design reviews.
  • •Create optimized detail designs and present them in design reviews; ensure designs are manufacturable and updated with required changes.
  • •Support integration, validation, and qualification activities, including contributing to integration and validation plans and reports.
  • •Proactively identify design integration and delivery risks and recommend actions to mitigate schedule delays.
  • •Conduct safety and environmental hazard assessments (including SFARP where required), align designs with Australian regulations/IMO conventions/customer requirements, and act as supplier primary point of contact; provide technical assistance during integration/testing and attend Osborne shipyard and supplier sites as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong background designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting piping and/or fluid transfer systems.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Aeronautical Engineering (or maritime experience considered in lieu of a degree).
  • •Experience developing mechanical designs, participating in design reviews, and conducting design analyses.
  • •Experience supporting integration, validation, and qualification testing of mechanical designs.
  • •Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance for ITAR (eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations).
