Job Summary

Respond to customer service needs such as service connections and disconnections, advise customers on required repairs, and support collection activities on delinquent accounts. Install, program, and operate Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment, read meters for billing, and maintain accurate records and reports. Assist with natural gas and other emergency responsiveness, identify safety/encroachment issues, and ensure safe operation and inspection of assigned vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform basic work using prescribed procedures.
•Respond to customer requests for service, including connections and disconnections, as operator qualified.
•Identify needed repairs, answer basic questions, and ensure customer understanding and satisfaction.
•Install, program, and operate Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment; read meters and record usage for billing.
•Assist with emergency responsiveness, maintain compliant records/reports, and address safety and encroachment issues.

Key Requirements

•High school education (or GED) and the ability to complete assigned classes.
•Valid driver’s license in accordance with company standards.
•Complete Operator Qualifications (OQ) and OJT for the Service Learning Path; maintain required OQs and training.
•Ability to use the company internet/intranet for data entry, reference, and retrieval.
•Communicate with internal/external customers to provide basic factual information, and meet physical demands for field work.
