Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, implement, deliver, and maintain application-level software running on embedded Linux smart home devices.
  • •Integrate smart home devices over wireless protocols into the Vivint ecosystem.
  • •Build compelling user experiences using embedded UI development (QT/QML).
  • •Solve complex software development problems and complete complex development tasks.
  • •Collaborate with software, hardware, and quality engineers and work with product leadership to address pain points.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of professional software development experience and strong embedded software experience on embedded Linux platforms.
  • •Proficiency with modern C++ and understanding of object-oriented software design patterns.
  • •Experience with QT/QML for building user interfaces (and experience building UIs for web or mobile platforms is beneficial).
  • •Understanding of common web/IoT protocols including HTTP, MQTT, JSON, protobufs, and related standards.
  • •Experience with compiling, unit testing, and debugging in a Linux environment, plus a BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
