Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and timely along required routes while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Load/unload goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted, and return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain shipping paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and perform routine service such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle, and be at least 21 years old.
  • •Pass required background checks and drug testing, including a DOT physical for vehicles over 10k lbs.
  • •Operate vehicles according to state and federal transportation laws and safety regulations.
  • •Remain focused in a busy environment and communicate professionally and courteously with customers and staff.
  • •Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds, sit for long periods in a trailer cab, and travel frequently.
