Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned rocket parts and assemblies, solving emergent supplier challenges and mitigating manufacturing/quality risk.
  • •Own new product introduction for new assemblies: define manufacturing methods, identify suppliers, and ramp to rate with supplier ownership.
  • •Conduct DFM reviews early to ensure parts are manufacturable prior to sourcing.
  • •Work with procurement to qualify suppliers to meet aggressive takt times and create flow-down quality/manufacturing specifications to the supply base.
  • •Review issues, drive root-cause corrective actions, lead containment activities, and close resolution through supplier/SpaceX changes and issue-tickets coordination with engineering.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • •1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products in a production environment.
  • •Ability to understand propulsion/fluid systems and the component manufacturing processes used to fabricate rocket parts.
  • •Working knowledge of sheet metal forming, cutting, and assembly processes, including stretch forming, stamping, spin forming, roll forming, and tube forming/bending.
  • •Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply quality/inspection concepts (e.g., GD&T, and related documentation).
