Key Responsibilities

  • •Create and maintain technical governance decision gates, assurance checklists, peer-review protocols, risk registers, and minimum technical standards for investment and execution readiness.
  • •Screen and rank portfolio opportunities using consistent capital discipline criteria (cash flow, reserves/resource upside, capital intensity, payback/return, execution complexity, partner alignment, and compliance risk).
  • •Provide subsurface/reservoir/reserves assurance by challenging recovery factors, decline curves, productivity, pressure support, models, reserves/resources ranges, depletion strategies, and production forecasts.
  • •Assure drilling, completion, and workover readiness by reviewing well design, rig/service requirements, sequencing, workover inventory, contractor capability, logistics, schedule/contingencies, and HSE controls.
  • •Integrate multidisciplinary technical inputs (subsurface, wells, production, facilities, HSE, project controls, economics, contracting) into coherent, board-ready recommendations and lead technical workshops with operators, partners, and authorities.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 20 years of progressive upstream oil and gas experience with senior responsibility in technical assurance, asset evaluation, drilling/workover, reservoir/production, or integrated technical leadership.
  • •Deep integrated upstream expertise across subsurface, wells, production operations, facilities, asset integrity, HSE, project controls, economics, and contracting interfaces.
  • •Ability to establish proportionate assurance frameworks, independent reviews, risk registers, minimum standards, and evidence-based investment decision gates.
  • •Strong capability to evaluate reserves, production, development concepts, costs, schedules, execution risk, and economics while challenging unsupported assumptions.
  • •Demonstrated ability to integrate multidisciplinary evidence and communicate technical uncertainty into clear recommendations for CEOs, Boards, partners, authorities, and advisors.
