Job Summary

Support the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Executive Chef in daily food production while ensuring quality, consistency, and hygiene. This primarily hands-on role includes executing mise-en-place and cooking to recipes and service forecasts, assisting with section supervision for smooth service, maintaining brand and portion standards, enforcing food safety and temperature control, and supporting stock handling, rotation, and waste reduction. Provide basic guidance to Commis Chefs and grow culinary leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute daily food preparation and cooking based on recipes, production lists, covers, and service forecasts.
•Complete mise-en-place on time and support à la carte service, banquets, events, and promotions.
•Assist in managing assigned kitchen sections to ensure smooth, timely service and step in during shortages or peak periods.
•Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control; perform basic quality checks and escalate concerns to senior chefs.
•Follow food safety, hygiene, and municipality regulations, including labeling, date coding, FIFO rotation, temperature control, and cleaning/sanitation.

Key Requirements

•Culinary qualification or hotel school graduate.
•Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a professional kitchen.
•Good organisation and time management.
•Ability to work calmly under pressure.
•Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
