Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate, inspect, and monitor steam power plant equipment safely and efficiently across plant systems.
  • •Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, fellow workers, and public safety.
  • •Learn and follow proper operating procedures, including troubleshooting operational problems using meter and gauge readings.
  • •Monitor and record data using instruments, recording charts, annunciator systems, and shift logs.
  • •Perform routine cleaning and help with maintenance-related tasks such as generating work notifications for equipment repair.

Key Requirements

  • •Possess or obtain within 60 days an Associate’s Degree in Process Technology or a related field.
  • •2 years of power plant operations or relevant military experience.
  • •Ability to operate various switches and valves and understand their effects on generating station operation.
  • •Ability to work without supervision while carrying out duties.
  • •Ability to tag out/lock out equipment per NRG’s Tag Out/Lock Out procedure.
