Job Summary

Operate and control asphalt plant production and load-out activities, working mostly in the Montgomery area. Perform walk-around surveys of crushing equipment, identify maintenance and housekeeping needs, and ensure plant startup and shutdown procedures are completed safely. Monitor gauges and computer-generated information to maintain productivity, assist with preventive maintenance and repairs, and communicate plant performance and issues across the organization while following quality and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Control asphalt plant production and load-out of materials produced in the plants.
•Conduct preliminary walk-around surveys and identify maintenance, preventive maintenance, worn parts, emissions control, and housekeeping needs.
•Run the plant start-up and shutdown process and troubleshoot issues using computer screens and available reporting.
•Monitor gauges and computer-generated information to maintain productivity and protect crushing process assets.
•Perform minor servicing/maintenance, assist with preventive maintenance and repairs, and coordinate with other operators or maintenance personnel as needed.

Key Requirements

•Initiate the full plant start-up and shutdown process, navigating computer screens to troubleshoot, retrieve reports, and electronically submit information when available.
•Visually observe and monitor critical gauges and computer-generated information to maximize productivity and protect crushing process assets.
•Assist with preventive maintenance and plant repairs, including lubrications and complete clean-up.
•Communicate with all levels of the organization about the plant’s components, needs, issues, and efficiency enhancements; provide accurate and timely daily operating performance information.
