Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage full-cycle project and property accounting for active and pipeline development projects, ensuring integration with the corporate month-end close.
  • •Monitor and analyze project spend, maintain project cost ledgers, and track budget-to-actual variances across pre-development, construction, and lease-up.
  • •Develop relationships across internal development, acquisitions, construction, and property management teams and with external general contractors, lenders, and investors.
  • •Manage and support annual and project-specific audit processes, including preparation and reconciliation of supporting schedules.
  • •Oversee tax preparation and compliance for real estate development entities, coordinating with third-party tax advisors for project- and entity-level filings.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • •7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in real estate development or construction project accounting.
  • •Advanced proficiency in Excel and project-based accounting systems; experience with Yardi, Procore, MRI, or similar ERP strongly preferred.
  • •In-depth knowledge of GAAP as applied to development, construction, and capitalization policies.
  • •Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven development environment.
