Job Summary

Join Cisco’s Common Hardware Group (CHG) on the Diagnostic/BSP team for core and edge network switches and routers. You’ll design, develop, and test BSP/diagnostics software and build kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals. Execute software test plans, collaborate cross-functionally to debug prototypes, and validate reliability and performance. Work across embedded, networking, and AI/ML-driven workload demands.

•Design and develop BSP and diagnostics for Cisco core and edge routing products.
•Design, develop, and test kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug prototypes and validate software.
•Support reliability and performance improvements for world-class hardware used in network switches and routers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 7+ years experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years experience.
•Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming.
•Strong hardware and device driver development experience, including Linux hardware bring-up.
•Demonstrated experience with hardware and device driver development: multi-threading, event handling, and state machine implementation.
•Experience developing, debugging, and validating embedded systems and device drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and/or GPIO protocols.
