Key Responsibilities

  • •Bridge design, both in the UK and overseas
  • •Bridge management and supervision of junior team members and CAD technicians
  • •Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments
  • •General civil and structural engineering support to other teams
  • •Feasibility studies and options appraisals; preparation of documents, reports, and cost estimates

Key Requirements

  • •Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with practical knowledge of bridge design, maintenance and assessment
  • •Experience in project management of bridge projects and supervision of junior team members
  • •Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) related to structural schemes
  • •Understanding and application of Eurocodes in bridge design; experience with steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures
  • •Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software such as LUSAS, Superstress and SAM
