Key Responsibilities

•Bridge design, both in the UK and overseas
•Bridge management and supervision of junior team members and CAD technicians
•Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments
•General civil and structural engineering support to other teams
•Feasibility studies and options appraisals; preparation of documents, reports, and cost estimates

Key Requirements

•Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with practical knowledge of bridge design, maintenance and assessment
•Experience in project management of bridge projects and supervision of junior team members
•Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) related to structural schemes
•Understanding and application of Eurocodes in bridge design; experience with steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures
•Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software such as LUSAS, Superstress and SAM
