Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead field operations for protection and control (P&C) testing and energization activities, including oversight of day-to-day site work.
  • •Perform testing and commissioning on Protection and Control systems for high-voltage substations, including hands-on protective relay testing and execution/validation of advanced testing sequences.
  • •Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors to deliver field tasks efficiently and in compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
  • •Mentor junior and mid-level technicians, lead field crews, and manage site logistics while maintaining effective communication with project leadership.
  • •Maintain safety/quality: follow safety protocols and briefings, lead health and safety and quality control procedures, document work using digital tools, and ensure accurate reporting and data integration.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum 11 years of experience in electrical testing, including medium/high-voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Expertise with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes, including relay calibration with Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150.
  • •Working knowledge of electrical field testing standards and procedures, including NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • •Proficiency with testing software such as ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, and AcSELerator Quickset, plus strong field communication and documentation skills.
