Job Summary

Help deliver highway design projects across the North West and Midlands for clients including local authorities and major national organisations. You’ll contribute to all stages of the project life cycle, preparing works information such as specifications, technical reports, and risk assessments. You’ll support project managers to meet budget, programme, standards, and legal requirements, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide occasional site supervision and contractor compliance support.

Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to the development of highway designs across all stages of the project life cycle for diverse clients and sectors.
•Prepare Works Information including specifications, technical reports, and risk assessments.
•Support Project Managers to deliver schemes to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements.
•Collaborate with clients, key stakeholders, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
•Provide ad hoc site supervision by monitoring contractor compliance with the Contract and ensuring works align with Works Information.

Key Requirements

•Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent within a highway design role.
•Working towards CEng or IEng with demonstrable progress.
•Relevant highway design knowledge across the project life cycle, including experience with road geometry, roundabouts, and junction design.
•Knowledge of relevant design codes, including Design Manual for Roads & Bridges and Manual for Streets, and experience preparing drawings for contract documentation and approvals.
•Ability to use software such as Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage and/or Causeway Flow, plus experience complying with CDM Designers Duties.
