Job Summary

Instrumentation Controls Technician provides maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of computer control systems and instrument devices for a second shift. Typical tasks include documenting and testing control systems, reading P&ID and ladder logic, maintaining calibration programs, and providing weekend on-site support to plant operations. Industrial experience in ISO 9000 environments and CMMS-use are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

•Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications for control systems.
•Documentation, analysis and testing of computer systems or programs, based on and related to user system design specifications.
•Documentation, testing of computer programs related to machine operating systems.
•Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot devices/instruments and labeling equipment.
•Manage the Calibration Program, including schedule of calibrations, perform calibrations on specific instruments, maintain Calibration Manager Software compliant with ISO 9000 requirements, etc.

•Strong electrical background.
•Experience with computer systems, programs, and PLCs (Allen-Bradley desirable). Also, with pneumatic and hydraulic devices.
•Ability to read technical drawings (P & IDs), ladder logic diagrams; perform instrument calibrations.
•Experience in ISO 9000 and/or process type (chemical/pharmaceutical/food) industrial facilities.
