Key Responsibilities

  • •Administer and maintain DB2 LUW databases and perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades to ensure reliability and effectiveness.
  • •Monitor database health and performance using AWS CloudWatch and Dynatrace, and conduct query tuning and performance optimization to address bottlenecks.
  • •Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to reduce downtime, coordinating with application teams on SQL-related tasks and DB2 LUW integration needs.
  • •Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies, including regular testing of recovery procedures to ensure data can be restored quickly.
  • •Establish security protocols, perform security audits and apply patches, and coordinate with central teams on AWS infrastructure and Dynatrace services for database performance and health.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong DB2 expertise, including DB2 LUW administration (versions 10.5, 11.1, 11.5) and DB2 z/OS administration (versions 11, 12, 13), plus DB2 certification.
  • •SQL knowledge with exposure to advanced DB2 features, along with performance tuning and optimization skills.
  • •Linux administration skills and understanding of network and storage concepts.
  • •Backup and recovery experience, including developing backup strategies and testing recovery procedures.
  • •Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and change/problem/incident management; ITIL Foundation knowledge is preferred.
