Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop site distribution logic for macro, rooftop, pole-mounted, and small-cell deployments aligned to coverage objectives and demand patterns.
  • •Define RF planning assumptions for 3G/4G/5G including frequency bands, antenna parameters, sectorization, feeder losses, MIMO, and propagation model.
  • •Prepare or review RF link budgets for UMTS, LTE, and 5G NR downlink/uplink, including path loss, sensitivity, noise figure, interference margin, penetration loss, and fade margin.
  • •Perform coverage and capacity planning using RF tools and GIS inputs, and assess KPIs such as RSRP/RSRQ/SINR and throughput/cell-edge performance.
  • •Coordinate with civil, power, backhaul, IBS, GIS, and implementation teams; contribute RF design comments during HLD/LLD and support clarifications for RFP/tender/operator design reviews.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of hands-on experience in cellular RF planning, mobile network design, coverage modeling, capacity planning, or RAN engineering.
  • •Strong practical knowledge of 3G/UMTS, 4G/LTE and 5G NR radio interfaces, bands, KPIs, deployment scenarios, and RAN architecture.
  • •Experience using RF planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, Mentum, iBwave, Asset, or equivalent platforms.
  • •Strong understanding of propagation models, clutter calibration, terrain/building databases, link budget formulation, and coverage prediction uncertainty.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, wireless communications, RF engineering (master’s preferred).
