Job Summary

Join the Equities Desk in HSBC Global Private Banking as a Direct Access Equity Advisor. You’ll manage a book of private and retail wealth equity clients, collaborate with equity and capital markets teams to grow advisory and dealing offerings (including equity-linked structured products), and publish thematic stock ideas. The role also involves maintaining advisory infrastructure, performing client portfolio reviews, supporting product due diligence and risk processes, and upholding internal controls and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a Direct Access Equity Advisor within the Equities Desk covering Private Bank and Retail Wealth.
•Collaborate with equity colleagues and other capital markets desks, RMs, and ICs to grow advisory and dealing across equities and equity-linked structured products.
•Manage a client book with annual sales targets while adhering to risk metrics and supporting both advisory and trade execution.
•Maintain advisory infrastructure including stock coverage, investment rationale, sector sheets, and client presentation decks.
•Publish thematic stock ideas, participate in internal and external meetings/events, and support equity portfolio reviews and desk processes such as product due diligence and risk rating.

Key Requirements

•Sound understanding of equities, equity-linked structured products, and trade execution, with relevant private bank advisory/execution experience preferred.
•Knowledge of key equity markets (US, HK, China, Singapore, Europe) and broad understanding of major equity sectors.
•Strong presentation skills for large groups, small groups, and 1x1 settings.
•University graduate or other relevant professional qualifications.
•Client Advisor Competency Standards and FMRP certifications (unless exempted by compliance), plus proficiency in Mandarin.
