Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical side of the sales cycle (discovery, solution design, demos, POCs/POVs, and technical objection handling) with your AE.
  • •Run the technical side of expansion by spotting new use cases in existing accounts and turning them into evaluations.
  • •Build working demos and prototypes on Exa’s API tailored to each customer’s use case (agents, research, search, enrichment).
  • •Translate Exa’s capabilities into use-case narratives for CTOs, engineers, and PMs.
  • •Serve as the trusted technical advisor and feed field learnings back into product and engineering while scaling reusable demos, integration patterns, and playbooks.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in a customer-facing technical role (solutions/sales engineering, solutions architecture, or engineering with heavy customer exposure).
  • •Technical depth with APIs and modern development (e.g., Python or TypeScript) to design integrations, build demos, and debug live.
  • •Strong communication and presentation skills for technical audiences; able to say you’ll find out and follow through.
  • •Comfort with ambiguity and running multiple evaluations in parallel to prioritize what moves deals.
  • •Familiarity with the modern AI stack (LLMs, RAG, agents) to scope POCs with clear success criteria.
