Key Responsibilities

•Analyze root-cause failure of Raytheon products including components, mechanical assemblies, systems, and manufacturing materials.
•Serve as the primary SEM operator with knowledge of metallurgical evaluations, fracture analysis, tensile strength, peel strength, hardness, and fatigue testing in electronics.
•Utilize analytical tools such as SEM/EDS/WDS, universal testing machines (Instron), thermal analysis tools, optical microscopes, and FIB; prepare formal analysis reports and recommendations.
•Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with oversight by senior engineers and maintain tools and audit preparations.
•Communicate findings clearly to key stakeholders and contribute to program success by supporting data collection and analysis

Key Requirements

•BS in Materials Science or related field with 5 years of experience or an advanced degree with corresponding experience
•Minimum 5 years of related experience or advanced degree with 3 years of experience
•Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the materials engineering field
•Theoretical knowledge of lab analytical tools such as SEM, EDS/WDS, universal testing machines, thermal analysis tools, optical microscopes, and FIB
•Ability to independently author cogent technical reports and deliver presentations to key stakeholders
