Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver a wide portfolio of road projects from pursuit through to completion (or lead single large-scale commissions).
  • •Oversee technical delivery by appointing competent discipline lead engineers and developing engineering tasks and novel concepts.
  • •Provide technical expertise to the design team across multidisciplinary projects from conceptual phases through implementation.
  • •Mitigate and manage contract risk, monitor key project performance indicators, and ensure project data is accurate and timely.
  • •Lead and mentor a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, provide technical scrutiny of deliverables, and contribute to bid development while ensuring quality and safety during design and construction.

Key Requirements

  • •Ideally chartered with a relevant institution (e.g., Engineers Ireland, ICE or similar).
  • •Experience in Road and Highways engineering, with sign-off responsibility for complex transportation designs.
  • •Experience with NTA and TII Standards, Project Management Guidelines, and Project Appraisal Guidelines.
  • •Working knowledge of contracts including PWC/GCC, NEC and FIDIC, including associated dispute resolution processes.
  • •Experience acting (or supporting) as employers rep or equivalent on works contracts above €5m.
