Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field inspections according to MassDOT, MBTA, and RIDOT requirements and the FHWA NBIS/NTIS as applicable.
  • •Supervise team members and manage access and equipment vendors for inspection work.
  • •Conduct work at heights and with bridge inspection access equipment, including ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • •Prepare inspection reports, including sketches, defect quantity calculations, and preliminary construction cost estimates for repairs/maintenance.
  • •Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others, and support load rating calculations and report development as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS plus 4 years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education).
  • •Currently qualified as a National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and/or National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS) Team Leader, including required NHI safety inspections and refresher trainings.
  • •Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices (must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review).
  • •Capable of field work including traversing steep embankments, working in confined spaces, working at heights, and working around active traffic.
  • •Must be able to lift/carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work overnight as required.
