Key Responsibilities

•Assemble, install, and repair valves, pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, steam, chilled water, hot water, sewage, gas, air, and drainage systems per plumbing codes.
•Study building plans/working drawings, inspect structures for obstructions, and determine installation sequence and required work aids.
•Locate and mark pipe positions, cut openings in walls and floors, and use measurements to avoid weakening structures.
•Cut, thread, and bend pipe; join pipe using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk; test systems for leaks using pressure gauges.
•Install and repair plumbing fixtures, repair/test backflow devices, and complete daily work order logs with inspections, maintenance, repair details, materials, and hours worked.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 5 years journeyman level Plumber/Pipefitter experience or completion of a DOL certified apprentice program.
•Read and interpret blueprints and drawings; able to read and write.
•Maintain a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
•Hold State of Alabama Plumbing License (or ability to obtain and maintain required licenses/ID/certifications).
•Obtain and maintain clearance up to and including SECRET and/or pass a National Agency Check (NACI).
