Job Summary

Lead Zyte’s Edge Platform squad to run browsers on Edge devices, combining hands-on engineering with people leadership. Own the technical direction and roadmap for browser agents, a large-scale gateway, and browser-rendering services used across teams. Build stealth capabilities and keep a custom Chromium branch current, while driving architectural decisions and maintaining reliability and antibot success KPIs for undetectable, scalable web access.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of 5–7 engineers.
•Own the Edge Platform technical direction and delivery roadmap, including sprint planning and backlog prioritization.
•Develop and maintain cross-platform browser-agent applications for Windows, macOS, and Android.
•Operate and evolve a large-scale gateway connecting to millions of peer devices, including scheduling, sharding, and allocation.
•Build stealth capabilities into the browser-agent SDK and custom Chromium, and drive architectural decisions through RFDs while tracking antiban KPIs and reliability.

Key Requirements

•10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a team lead or tech lead managing distributed engineering teams.
•Strong systems programming skills in C++ and/or Rust, with experience building high-load, latency-sensitive services.
•Strong networking knowledge across HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, WebSockets, and TLS, including network programming.
•Proficiency with event-driven/asynchronous programming patterns such as event loops, futures, and reactor patterns.
•Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS.
